It’s been a great summer here at the Rutherford Public Library! There have been a lot of great programs many of the children got to enjoy. The summer season will end with a bang, or an abracadabra: Come to our magic show today at 3PM!
The show will feature juggling, comedy, construction fun and jaw-dropping magic! The program will be for ages 4-11 and all are welcome. There is no registration required for this magical and fun event!
Due to construction taking place downstairs, the magic show will be held on the main floor of the library.

The solar eclipse is happening Monday, Aug. 21, and everyone is excited. Unfortunately, we are not one of the libraries in the state who is carrying the special eclipse glasses.

Today at 10:30AM, Miss Jane will hold her last story time for the summer. Be sure to come by and enjoy a story, songs, fingerplays, and more. After today, we will be taking a short break from story time until school starts again.
Enjoy the summer, and you can always come to the library for books for your own story times at home!
Starting Sept. 12, Rutherford Public Library will again be holding computer classes in the lab. Here are the classes we have scheduled:
Word 2013 Basics: Three Sessions–Tuesdays, Sept. 12, 19, and 26, at 6:30PM
This class is for those who already know the computer and are looking to learn how to use Microsoft Word or haven’t used it in a long time. You will have hands-on experience and will get to work on a project.
Google Drive: Three sessions–Wednesdays, Sept. 13, 20 and 27, 11:00AM
For those interested in using the Google Drive Suite, which can be accessed on any device. Those who attend must have prior computer experience as well as a Google account. Get to know the program Rutherford students are using in schools.
Computer Basics: Three sessions–Thursdays, Sept. 14, 21, and 28, 11:00AM
For the new computer user! Start at the very beginning and learn how to use a computer and navigate the Internet. Learn with other novice computer users.
To register for any of these classes, please stop by the library or call 201-939-8600. September is only a few weeks away. sign up before it’s too late!
Our ESL Summer Session will come to an end on Thursday, Aug. 24. Those who are currently enrolled in the Summer Session can sign up for the Fall Session. The Fall Session will start up Tuesday, Sept. 19. Those interested can sign up beforehand at the front desk or the day of class.
ESL classes are held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10-11 AM. Learn English with other English learners.
The Rutherford Public Library has already announced its September classes, and we are currently accepting registration. But what if there’s something you need to learn right now? That’s what the Tech Tutor is for!
A Tech Tutor can be booked for one hour per session. We can help with many things: email, working with a PC, downloading an app or program to your device, etc. You name it, and we can find a staff member who can help! You can register for a time slot by stopping by the library or calling 201-939-8600. We can work with your schedule and give you one-on-one help.
